Hyundai

Hyundai Motor Company was established in 1967 and released their first model, the Cortina, in cooperation with Ford Motors in 1968. Hyundai released its first car, the Excel, to the US in 1986 which was nominated as Best Product #10 due its affordability by Fortune Magazine. Hyundai set a record of selling the most cars in its first year of business in the US compared to any other car brand. The mid size Sonata was produced in 1988 and Hyundai added its ten year or one hundred thousand mile warranty. Hyundai stepped into the luxury sedan market with Genesis after its debut as a concept car in 2007 and in 2009 the Genesis was named the North American Car of the Year.
