Mitsubishi Motors’ origin dates back to 1917 when the Mitsubishi Model A became the first series production car in Japan. This car was entirely built by hand and was much more expensive than American and European cars of the time. Only twenty two of the Model A’s were built when the model was discontinued in 1921.
